Electrical Appliances Will Be Cheaper To Run With New Rules

British customers will soon be able to save money on their energy bills, due to the new rules to be set out. Electrical appliances such as washing machines and fridges will be more cost efficient to run and repair, and will have a longer life due to the new energy rule by the UK government, announced on the 10th March 2021.

Legally, manufacturers will have to allow spare parts to be obtainable for machines from the summer, to allow them to be repaired simply. This is to potentially allow their life to lengthen up to a decade more. This should stop machines being scrapped too early, helping to reduce carbon releasing and being more environmentally friendly, as the UK can produce electrical excess of around 1.5 millions tonnes each year.

This will be financially efficient, due to customers being able to save around £75 on energy bills every year. There is also a chance to make a ‘green’ choice, due to the new labels portraying energy classes from A-G. These will give more information on how efficient the appliance is with energy, which hopefully will allow customers to choose carefully when looking for an eco-friendly alternative.
